  PMX English Bone-name Adder V1.06

                           Copyright(c) F.Issiki 2025

PMX English Bone-name Adder is a tool for rewriting
vacant English bone/morph/display-frame names in a PMX
file.
PMX English Bone-name Adder infers proper English
names based on the Japanese bone/morph/display-frame
names, and attach the English names, creating a new PMX
file.

<< How to use >>

- You can drag-and-drop a PMX file (.pmx) onto this tool
  (PmxEnglishNameAdder.exe).
This tool automatically start checking and rewriting
  the dropped PMX file.

If this tool finds vacant English bone, morph, and
display-frame names in the PMX, this tool attachs
proper English names based on their Japanese names.

If this tool will create a new PMX file with the name
"-new" attached to the original file name.

- You can also start this tool by executing
  PmxEnglishNameAdder.exe by double-clicking and then
selecting the PMX file on the dialogue.

- You can drop multiple PMX files onto
  PmxEnglishNameAdder.exe, which
is convenient for rewriting series of PMX files.

<< For advanced users >>

- The file "alias.ini" defines the replacement of letters or
characters in bone names and/or morphing names.

- Display-frame names are converted based on the morph name
  definitions.

- English names are optional names used for edit-screen display
in English mode in MMD and do not affect VMD recording or
  playback.

- The definition in "alias.ini" is not perfect (as they have
  >100000 varieties), and this tool may miss in replacing
bone names or morphing names to English names.

You can edit and add definitions into "alias.ini" using text
  editors.
We would be glad if you would feedback about the alias.ini
  file.

- You can start PmxEnglishNameAdder.exe from CommandPrompt
(Windows black console window) and assign -F option
for force-replacing of English bone/morph names inferred
from Japanese bone/morph names ignoring the original
  English names, as
    > PmxEnglishNameAdder -F <filename>.pmx

<< Supported OS versions >>

  OS: Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and 11. (x32, x64)
　　　(with Japanese language support,
if you use Japanese folder/file names on your PCs.)
(If you are only using English folder/file names on
your PCs, Japanese language support is not necessary.)
RAM: 64MB or more (not Giga)

- This tool is a Windows 95 compatible software.
By default, the OS launches this tool in ANSI compatible
mode and does not support Unicode specific characters
in file/folder names (including parent folders).
The supported character codes in the ANSI mode are typically
Multi-byte character codes (famous as DBCS or SHIFT-JIS,
  etc.).
If you encountered an error executing this tool, please
remove Unicode-specific characters in file/folder names
(use safe characters only), or move all related files
  directly onto the Desktop.

- Norton Sonar (by NortonLifeLook Inc.(formerly Symantec))
has been found to detect this tool as a "unknown executable
file" and automatically delete it, even if the executable
file is not infected and free from viruses.
In that case, check and re-scan the executable files
(PMXCorr.EXE, etc.) again with the manual scan in the Norton.
If the result of the re-scan shows "no infection" and
clarified it to be clean from viruses, please "Recover" and
"Exclude" the PMXCorr.exe from the scan in the "Process"
  menu in the Norton.
